Domestic Violence Training Records

Each year, the Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence requests statistical compilations of DV training for LEO. We provide them with the data for in-service programs reported to OPS, as well as the data for officers that completed the Basic Course for Police Officers.

In addition, if you would be so kind as to review your local training efforts and report via e-mail a description of any other training in DV to them which has not already been included above? All they will need at this time is whether the training was in-service in nature, a one line description, and the number of officers attending. If they are from multiple jurisdictions, it would also be helpful to list the agency, the County it is in, and the number of officers in attendance.

If the training was conducted by staff from OPDV; that does not have to be reported.

Please send that information to:

Zone Coordinator Recommendation Form

Effective July 21, 2009, the Governor promulgated amendments to the regulations governing police basic and in-service training to eliminate the requirement that training providers submit a completed Zone Coordinator Recommendation Form prior to receiving course approval from the Division. As Zone Coordinators provide a valuable service to their constituents and serve as a catalyst for training initiatives in their respective jurisdictions, the amendments do not eliminate the position or function of the zone coordinators, only repeals the requirement that a completed form be submitted prior to course approval. The result will be a more seamless course approval process.

Call Mike Miller at the Office of Public Safety if you receive any inquiries.
